How's this for a house concept? Back in 1934, a magazine called Everyday Science and Mechanics envisioned a house of the future that was essentially a huge sphere, which could be fitted with tires to transport from one location to another. Wild!

Zavikon Island

How's this for an unusual property? This is Zavikon Island, located in Thousand Islands archipelago on the St. Lawrence River, between Ontario and New York.
Zavikon Island is actually 2 small islands, both privately owned (by the same owner). The islands are connected by a 32 foot long bridge. It had long been rumoured the smaller island was across the border in the United States, which would have made this the shortest international bridge in the world.
Both islands are actually located in Canada however, but the border is very close - only 168 metres (551 feet) away from the smaller island.
Would be cool if this property ever came up for sale!

Shoebox Houses

These single storey, flat roof houses were built over a 100 years ago in Montreal, and are known as Shoebox houses.
Other distinguishing characteristics of shoebox houses are the centrally placed front door, framed by 2 windows.
There are over 560 of them in Montreal's Rosemont-La Petite-patrie neighbourhood.
